Buying List

Buying Suggestions

The items listed here fall somewhere between a 72 Hour bag and an I.N.C.H. bag with some camping gear tossed in. It is aimed at allowing a small family unit to evacuate to a different location and have items to remain there for a period of time with very little previous preparation at that site. Items such as food and water should be bought in quantities relative to the  how far you must travel and how long you intend to hold up at the location on the other end.

Also remember that backups for key items, such as fire making tools, should be included.

For the Kids

It is important to give a thought to small children in bad scenarios.  Keeping them occupied and calm is a large concern. Give them their own bag and make them responsible for it. That will give them a sense of helping out. Activities, a favorite stuffed animal, some food, and water are good options. Talk to them about the food and water. That way if they get separated, they can fall back on it as supplies.
